It's a beautiful day and you're looking for a great way to spend some quality family time outdoors... Hakuna Matata, have we got the place for you! Welcome to Reynou Animal park, where over 600 animals and 130 animal species from all five continents live! Watch out Lion King and Bagheera, here we come!
Our morning stroll begins on a majestic alleyway, with trees on either side and a river that leads up to a lovely 19th century castle, which was once owned by Charles Haviland, the famous porcelain maker.
Parc du Reynou is not your typical zoo with animals in cages, and that is what we really like most about it. The park's occupants live in semi-freedom.
From the African plains (storks, ibises, pelicans, panthers, lemurs, lions, cheetaks, giraffes, ostriches, …), to the plains of South America (tapirs, lamas, pumas…), North America (bisons, wapitis…), Asia (yacks, antilopes,…) and northern Eurasia (Deer…), there is so much to see and discover here.
« Wow, mum ! A giant hedgehog !! « No darling, that's a porcupine».Thankfully there are signs with lots of information about each of the park's animal species, making it much easier to answer their questions!
After having tested out the park's tyrolean traverse, we settle down by the duck pond to have our picnic lunch. Next stop, the otter and suricat tank! A visit to Reynou would not be the same without saying hello to these loveable critters!
